Here are a few presenter stories that made me LOL at a recent Agile event I went to 😂

❌ Senior leadership said: “Go ahead with your transformation project and let us know when it’s done!”

❌ When talking about the ‘traditional way of doing things’, grads think that’s Agile!

❌ Transformation is a list of deliverables!

On a serious note, here are my 3 takeaways and recommended actions:

✅ “Everyone in the company should live and breathe the vision of the transformation. Take people on a journey of evolution. It’s not a project with a list of deliverables. Communicate the vision and the steps being taken to achieve it.”

➡️So here’s what you need to do – Communicate the change roadmap. Share the vision. Tell your people’s success stories on how they’ve achieved change. Now repeat it. And again. Keep repeating. So it embeds.

✅ “Change can’t be driven from one direction. It has to be driven from both directions, top down and bottom up.”

➡️Maybe try this. Assuming they’re on board with change in the first place 😉 – senior leaders need to communicate on it in all their updates. In parallel, share your people’s change success stories.

✅ “All companies think they’re customer focused, but they’re not. The org structure defines the culture. So change the culture by aligning all teams to the same customer journey and become an outcome focused company.”

➡️This means you should focus team success stories on the outcomes they’ve built for customers, to embed an outcome focused company culture.

Thanks to The Roundabouts, trg.recruitment and Moblessing Mudzamiri and team for another great event! I’m looking forward to the next one already! ☺️
