Because the pace of change is only accelerating and the rapid rise of AI is reshaping how we work. We now need a new capability: ๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ.
Not the capital-A Agile methodology, although the essence is the same when done well. ๐๐ถ๐ต ๐ต๐ฉ๐ข๐ตโ๐ด ๐ข ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ฆ ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ ๐ต๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ช๐คโฆ Iโll be talking on this at the IoIC Change Comms Conference next week.
Back to lowercase-a agility. This needs to become a core capability โ the mindset and habits that help you flex and adapt when everything keeps moving.
Agility in internal comms isnโt about working faster or squeezing more into your day! ๐๐ตโ๐ด ๐ข๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ต ๐ด๐ต๐ข๐บ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ด๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ด๐ช๐ท๐ฆ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ท๐ข๐ฏ๐ต. Itโs knowing how to adjust when plans shift and how to respond when peopleโs needs evolve.
In the session, we started with mindset โ our own. Agility begins with our behaviour before we influence anyone elseโs. Then we explored six practical Agile-inspired tools. Yes, designed for tech teams, but incredibly useful in our everyday work too. I shared how I use these tools myself, because ๐ข๐จ๐ช๐ญ๐ช๐ต๐บ ๐ด๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ด ๐ถ๐ฑ ๐ง๐ช๐ณ๐ด๐ต ๐ช๐ฏ ๐ด๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ข๐ฃ๐ช๐ต๐ด. It takes practice, especially if you love a polished draft, but it does pay off!
Weโre only at the start of an AI revolution. Transformation success rates were already struggling and AI will amplify that. But organisations canโt change without people โ and people canโt change without clear, timely and human communication. ๐ป๐๐๐โ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐
๐๐๐. Weโre becoming sense-makers, AI producers and editors, advisors, navigators, storytellers, content curators, strategic partners and, above all, ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ด ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ฐ ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ช๐ญ๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ค๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ.
